To view further details, you must visit the relevant state route planner. To do so, you can access the corresponding detailed view after calculating the route. Access these under the route calculation in the individual state cycling route planners.

The Germany cycling route planner is being continuously expanded and improved. Additional route planners will be integrated over time.

The Germany cycling route planner calculates routes based on the results of the states’ own cycling route planners, which offer customized suggestions for themed cycling routes. The purpose of state-specific routing is to ensure that the connections that are suggested are suitable for bicycles, and for instance that they do not travel along high-traffic roads that might provide a shorter connection.

After the route has been calculated, it can be downloaded as a GPX file. All commonly available routing apps and navigation devices can import these files. You can download the GPS track for the entire route or the state sections on the lower edge of the screen using the “GPS Tracks” button and the associated download button.

If you set intermediate points along the route, an alternative route will be suggested based on the individual selection criteria for the individual state cycling route planners.

A starting, ending, or intermediate point can be inserted by right clicking on the map in the states shown in color.

After the route is calculated, the elevation profile for the calculated route can be accessed at the bottom edge of the screen under the “Elevation profile” button.
